No, I didn't know about it.
Not if it's written in "funky cool" txt spk.

In the tank? That's not going to help, is it?

  3. That would explain a few things...
Yep. Saw more bikes than usual (but it was sunny), all
in nice black leathers/weatherproof jackets and on
    nice shiny bikes.

Too bloody hot for that. I wore a tee-shirt and jeans.
Well, the guy in front of me on a zx6r who thought he could take the
roundabout onto the a14 quickly almost came a cropper on the
queue of cars. I think he missed a car by about a foot at most...

  4. Didn't make myself clear. This wasn't filtering, per say. It was
"hoon round corner, in middle of inside lane of roundabout, get
surprised by stationary car and have to dive up between the lanes".
    Sensible policies, etc. etc.

Reminds me of hitting the right hand mirror of the GSXR750 on the
front _bumper_ of someone's car while going round them on a roundabout
    in Birmingham.

    I had to duck.

I thought that was the Insha'Allah method?

That's pretty much my definition of filtering.

    Fair point, well made.

Its the getting there and the trip home that's fun - honest - today
the town was mostly full of caravans, but Saltburn by the sea was
empty so much fun was had on the hairpins down to the harbour

Could be worth a look (assuming that I've not been made redundant),
where abouts do you fancy going?

    Mine's a Mk4 2003 model Golf SDi (non-turbo), bought last May. It's full
pikey spec, wind-up windows, central locking only on the 'key in door'
method and no air-con. Hopefully we will be getting Passats at the end
of the year and all of those come reasonably well specced, with all the
bits mine is missing. I don't know if I'd like a Passat, bit big for
    parking around central London.

Sir wants to try the new BMW 3.5 litre turbo diesel first I believe.

If sir has about another 10 grand to spend on a vehicle that depreciates
twice as fast as a VW.

I believe Sir missed out "twin", and having run a 3litre BMW diesel
for a year or two I for one will be trying the new lump. The 3.0 is
pretty good, so the 3.5 should be a nice powerplant, for an oil
    burning cage that is.

I believe you're all missing the fucking point. Diesels are all shite.
Some may be less shite than others, but ultimately petrol engines are
    just *better*.

  19. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
Diesel afficianado I may be, but you have a point. Both of my main 4
wheelers are diesel, simply because of the lower running costs, but for
    fun I like petrol-engined vehicles.
