Richard arrived at my house this evening with his very impressive tool to sort the link on the new chain out,[1] but first I impressed him with my (borrowed) very impressive tool to get the old chain off.[2] He's a little star, he is. [1] To peen the links rather than use a softlink. If ever there was a feedline, that was it. ;-) The magazines arrived by the way, many thanks - a good insight to the Fireblade range over the years.

Yep, you are, of course, correct. Jobs a good-un anyway, finally mobile again without worrying about the chain flying off and doing damage to me and/or the bike. The chain I took off was *seriously* in a bad way, I don't think the previous owner paid much attention to it and there comes a point in time where no amount of lube will make a difference. -- Lesley CBR600FW SBS#11 (with oak-leaf cluster) BOTAFOT#101A UKRMHRC#12 BONY#54P BOB#18 Real burds don't take hormones, they rage naturally http://www.wisewebservices.co.uk/lmp/

Fucking ada, when *I* point such a thing out to a poster *I* get short shrift off others from this parish for being so bloody daft as it doesn't really matter, it's all pointless, yada yada. If people are going to make 'rules' that posters are required to adhere to, at least lets all have the same damn song sheet, eh? -- Lesley CBR600FW SBS#11 (with oak-leaf cluster) BOTAFOT#101A UKRMHRC#12 BONY#54P BOB#18 Real burds don't take hormones, they rage naturally http://www.wisewebservices.co.uk/lmp/

I'll do a short version, shall I. It's considered bad form to post a posters name in the subject header because some posters think it means that that poster may be down and out. Someone posted a posters name in the subject header (quite a while ago now) and I naturally assumed the worst. I posted something to that effect in a reply. Another well-known poster from this parish berated me for doing so. So, is it bad form, or is it not? Or is it dependant on who it is that a) does the original post, and/or b) responds pointing out the error of their ways? Or do we just have moveable goal-posts around these here parts? -- Lesley CBR600FW SBS#11 (with oak-leaf cluster) BOTAFOT#101A UKRMHRC#12 BONY#54P BOB#18 Real burds don't take hormones, they rage naturally http://www.wisewebservices.co.uk/lmp/
