hey, I thought it was crap too.

But when I thought about how I was doing this traffic thing, then I
realised I *was* paying some attention to what I'd do if something went
    wrong.

Not planned well ahead of time, but more "if that bastard comes across
like he looks like he's going to, then with that truck there I'll have
    to..."

I don't think you can can them, have them all nicely packaged the day
before to be unpacked and used when that bastard does move across, but I
do think you have to have some idea of what you are going to do before
the excrement encounters the airconditioning, because you *don't* have
time to know what's clear and what's not and where the holes are.

    I'm a nothing!
Boomers are s'posed to be up to 1959 and GenX doesn't start until 1965 so
there's a fair few of us who aren't a demographic.

You were born after I left high school? Aargh!

Doesn't everybody, at least to some extent? You look ahead for road
hazards, side streets, traffic, peds, etc, and work out a
response/evasion. Not quite the full metal deerskin jacket but yes,
    you have to to survive.

The definitions, like astrological signs, are flexible. I've heard dates up
to 1965 for boomers and 1960 for X-ers.

Like my astrological signs, I consider myself 'on the cusp'. An X-Boomer if
    you like.

I remember during the sixties I wished I was ten years older so I could have
    *really* enjoyed it.

I remember being glad that I *wasn't* ten years older as I saw the
conscription call-ups on the TV and my big brother's best mate went off to
    VietNam...

What's all this about deerskin leathers?

    They sound mega-cool.

it would while it was still wearing them
surely deer skin is too soft for crash protection
