After much headscratching and tinkering, fiddling and farting around with Carbs (Off and stripped, cleaned and reassembled 5 times), coils (insulation applied, no change), plugs (Cleaned and gapped) and other items suggested by the Triumph Dealer I succumbed to the decision of allowing more professional hands to solve the problem. New coils, new plugs, tuned and balanced carbs, checked valve clearances, much tomfoolery with the *official* Triumph electrikery gizmo an MOT and parting with £320 solved the really irritating and annoying misfire and rough running. *Now* it runs as sweetly as a sewing machine and pulls like a train.
