On the search for a Twist`n`go scoot for my nephew (just turned 16) and a
    promise I always keep.

    Results in....a Piaggio Zip.
Front end damage (He`ll fix it and learn how to spray and make fibre-glass
    front fenders in the process).
Registered in Oct.2003 (yep, thats right).
    Mileage.....50....five zero 50 miles!
    HPI cleared.
£470 ukp.. Which is £70 more than we were expecting but having saved £70 on
a new rear tyre for the Muell was money available.

He`s back from a visit to the relatives in London tommorrow and it`s parked
in the garage all clean (apart from the front fender) and new.

And it`s Silver....not a girlie blue (his words;-)

Can`t wait to see his face when he get`s back....I remember when the old man
rode the FSIE into the back yard when I was 16...<choke>.

He`d managed to save £350 by himself.
The lil guy is a worker and was expecting to do some (on bike
    experience...I.E re-building) to get a decent scoot.

Makes it all the more sweeter that he`s not going to have the hassle of a
    MOT ;-)[1]

  12. Very, very nice work, Pete. As you say, his face will be a ruddy
    picture.

Jamie turned 14 yesterday. Two years to go. I'm already keeping my eyes
open for a decent project DT50MX.

Akkshirley TOG perhaps you could advise, I am on the lookout for a shite old
moped for my lad (he was 16 this month). Ebay and Bike Trader have a few,
but mostly at piss taking prices, or bikes in worse condition than your now
    legendary C90.

Where else would you recommend looking, bike breakers, autojumbles?
