The political farewell to one our respected statesman, Senator Bill Ratliff, who is retiring from our Texas legislature was postponed saturday because of the weather.. I'm sorry to say that I may not be here to express my respect for the Senator.. I have long been an admirer of the man, even though I wouldn't vote for him..LOL.. You see, he is on the other side of the aisle.. Over the years I have seen this man represent his constituents over stiff opposition from his party colleagues.. He has always been unwavering in advocating their best interests and the best interests of our state.. We will sadly miss a true statesman of this stature.. Now for the biker side of this post.. Earlier in the week, I ordered a trailer which I can use to haul motorcycles (distasteful as it may be)..So.. instead of politikking as planned, I drove over to Mt.Pleasant in the black GMC.. Geez.. sure glad I was caging instead of biking.. I got cold rain all the way.. The furthur east I got, the colder it got.. The guys at the fabricator plant, did a good job and they put quite a few extra little features on the trailer.. Guess I made a pretty good deal. The comparable trailers I priced in the metroplex were almost twice the price I paid for this one.. I should be able to accomodate two big cruisers on this trailer.. I was sure glad to have gotten the rig in time for my visit to Mexico later this month.. Whenever we go at this time of year, looks like we are moving.. Gifts and other things we carry to enhance someone's holidays don't make it practical for me to take the bike.. Hell... I need a semi to take everything.. This year though, (distasteful as it is) the Vulcan is going to be first loaded... I got me a trailer...Anyone who needs can feel free to give me a holler, we are mobil enough to get that bike with the flat tire or other difficulties to a shop..for repair... Have a good one, everybody.. Your friend in Irving Bill Walker
