I was just wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks for getting the
carbies back on after replacing the manifolds? The replacement
procedure itself was pretty easy, but getting the blasted things to
seat properly has been anything but! I can't really see any reason for
them to be so fiddly, so if anyone has any advice that could help
avoid too much wasted time working it out, it would be greatly
    appreciated.

Remove the Manifolds and soak them in Armourall. Softens em up well.

they are likley to be very hard with age , try silicone as suggested below ,
you could combine this with a soak in hot water as well

i went through this with a ZZR250 last week

my method was the manifolds on the carbs 1st then the airbox on the carbs
and then the carbs on the head

    your methods may vary :)

fucking big screwdriver also helps ;)

The manifolds are actually new, which is why I had the carbies off,
but I will try the silicone spray and see how that goes. Thanks guys.

Directing a hair dryer or fan-blower type heater on the rubber boots
keeps them soft while you're getting them all attached to their proper
carbies, but they're always pricks of things to line up.

Much easier on a GPX250 than a CBR600 of course, only half as many of
    them! ;-)
