Replacement Exhausts

The exhaust system on my 91 Virago has rusted out, so I need a new one
    for the MoT.

I'm getting confused about the regs for exhausts, as the Vosa site just
says that it shouldn't be 'too loud' (examiner's discretion?) and must
    be 'the right type'.

This latter requirement I assume means that it should have some sort of
BS or CE number. Does this have to be stamped on the exhaust system?

Can anyone point me at a definitive statement about what's Ok and what's
not, as I don't want to end up with an unMot'able exhaust.

There's a couple of Highway Hawk systems on Ebay atm, all I can find on
the Web is the US HH suite and loads of places selling them, but nowhere
(that I've found) does it state whether these systems are UK legal...

    Any advice/recommendations gratefully accepted
