    Hi

I have just brought a Rennect Rack for my Diversion 600 but was
disapointed by the low maximum load (2.5 Kg) recommended by Renntec.

What is the reason for such a low value ?

I have fitted it and it looks very sturdy. My feeling is that it
should cope with way more than this.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of rack ?

    Thanks

    Steve

It's a legalese CYA thing. I am sure it will stand up to much more weight
than 2.5kg, but since putting even a moderate amount of weight on a rear
rack can make some bikes handle very poorly indeed, Renntec are just
being cautious. They are specifying a low weight limit to avoid being
sued to buggery when you put 25 kg on it, and the bike starts doing the
hula when you go over the ton.

  3. Yeah. Got one on my Duke. Had one on my RD350, come to that. It's just
to cover their legal arses in case some twonk puts a hundredweight on it
and the bike goes into a terminal tankslapper.

Safe for at least 10kg in my own experience. Probably much more.
