I won't be joining you. After two weeks in the US I really just want
to go home. And more importantly Engelberg re-opens for skiing on
Saturday, so I have to be there.

And to add injury to insult, I've got a sodding gum infection that's
blown up one side of my face like a balloon. Antibiotics have kicked
in now, but yesterday, err, no it was US Thursday IYSWIM, the pain was
fucking excruciating, even with ibuprofen, ponstan and morphine.

    I think I need a few days R&R.

heh, it's not the urban-ness, as much as the PITA journey there and
    back.

The one thing with livng out in the Boondocks is the lack of decent
pubs within walking distance, but hopefully we'll move somewhere better
next year. It will still need decent links into London though, as
that's where most of my socialising is done.

When we went to view our current flat, the agent was delayed about half
an hour so we walked round the corner, went into the first pub we found
and settled down with a drink while waiting.

A year and a half later, it's still the only pub in Wandsworth I've ever
    been in.

Two weeks after I moved to the boonies, the boozer within sight of my
    garden reopened.

My point being the first pub I walked into, the nearest to my flat, is a
great local and I've never needed to go to another.

Oh, I thought it was full of thickos.

One of the two within walking distance of me is a cliquey hole, &
t'other's owned by a BNP member. I don't go to pubs to get drunk
    anymore.

On the plus side, The Three Crowns, Riffs Bar & The Peartree are all
within 10 minutes drive, so it's a great location for fantastic food &
    live music.
