    It'll close the active window.

I can understand a muppet like Gorman now being aware of the Alt+F4
combination, but I thought you were at least partially technically
    competant.

Alt+F4 is the keyboard short cut for File->Close, and merely shuts
down the active window; for pop-ups triggered by onUnload events, you
need to be quick off the mark and close the opened window before the
    javascript engine kicks in.

Its nice to see you practising your conviviality ahead of your court
    appearance.

    Yes, I know.

I was suggesting if you had multiple pages of porn open, as one might,
that it'll only close the top one- potentially exposing heaven only
    knows what horrors below.

I wonder if people working for porn companies have the reverse problem. i.e
Boss comes in and sees a load of non-filthy images on your screen

Where are you finding that shit! quick Alt+F4 works best to close those
little buggers down if you get them anyway. At the risk of preaching to the
educated - why not modify your host file. End of problems.

I just downloaded Hoststoggle today akcherly. Works fine for the odd site
where ad blocking makes backspacing a pain.

Have you tried a custom made Spondon racing keyboard, pre drilled for
    lightness.

The popups and extra windows happen all the time here at work. It even
happen when I'm opening up a local file. I don't have nearly as much of
    a problem at home.
    Good idea. Cheers.

Google for, download and install Proxomitron. Set it to load when
windows does (it's only small) and never see popups again. For that
matter, never see ads, javascript nasties, page counters, animated gifs,
    etc.

    Problem over.
