Red lights

Changing the subject a bit from dead bikers, but perhaps relevant a
little. Riding through the hanger lane gyratory lane twice a day,
it wouldn't be a stretch to say I'm shocked with the number of cars
that run red lights. I don't mean the odd one every other day, I mean 5,
10 or more through every single light change. Today, a van that was
stationary, beside me at a red light suddenly decided to go through it.

I wish they'd repurpose some of those gatsos to red light cameras...

Or make them duel use. But then again, perhaps not, remembering the shit
brakes I had on my 125 belting around the North Circ. when lights changed to
red and there wasn't enough distance to stop I'd snap open the throttle
(increasing my mph by, oh, 2 mph) to get through 'safely'...

It's not just cars. Going through town the other evening a rider who
was sat stationary next to me at some lights just upped and rode off
through a red. It wasn't late, the junction wasn't clear, he just
    didn't give a flying one.

Good luck to him though - he'll need it if he gets another close call
    like that.

    it.

The roundabout on the A1m at J8 is the same. I just expect it now so I
    adjust accordingly

Coming to work today I had a Saxo VTS/R come through on red while
I was halfway across Apex corner and cut right across me. I cursed him a
bit[1], gave him a cheery wave[2] and carried on my way. Seeing is this
is happening more and more frequently I was considering posting on the
subject but I see you beat me to it.

It's actually made me extremely careful at traffic lights esp. where I
can't see the traffic at the opposing set. I have to wait for green then
wait a bit longer for the obligatory red light jumper(s) and then go.
    So is the answer:
    a) they're all twats - let's be careful out there.
    b) they're all twats - let's kick a few doors in next time, eh?
I've currently opted for a) but am now leaning towards b).
    Indeed.

    [1] OK, a lot.
[2] You know, similar to Gareth Hunt in the coffee bean ads years ago.

Apart from that nasty average-speed trap and civilians with laser equipment?
I mean - how sad can you get (not you, the people who voluntarily spend
their own time measuring the speed of passing cars)?

Have you copied this observation to the pigs? I doubt it.

I am sure that some young promotion seeking oik could benefit from your
intelligence while serving our little community a little better at the
    same time.

Just think how satisfied he will be to know that he has earned the
undying admiration of the likes of us and that he can count on us a
friends, as best as yer average copper can count on anyone as friends
    that is, in the future.

    Go on, be brave.

    In Satans twisted
little helper, spouted such drivel as:
I have always hated Apex Corner - it seems a bit of a free for all.
    snip
If you carry on from Apex Corner towards Edgware on the A41, just after
Mobray Parade, you will find cameras on the traffic lights there. I have
only seen them active a couple of times tho - its amazing how many jump
    those lights too.

Is this often after you've filtered to the head of a queue? Cretins, the
lot of 'em. I mean, why do they bother? Do they think we're going to
filter to the front then stop and do our nails or summat? Or rearrange
    our "do"?
    <LOL!>

Apex Corner, Edgware or Apex Corner, Hanworth (here
    http://tinyurl.com/n6ge)?

I have to do the latter most every morning myself going South/North and
    then North/South most evenings[1]

In the mornings, it's either the clueless cunts coming all the way round
the outside of the roundabout from the Eastbound 316 or Southbound 312
without indicating you've got to watch out for, the mindless cretins
coming out of Twickenham Road cutting up the clueless cunts or the
mindless morons sailing straight off of the 316 thinking "I can just get
    through that gap..."

Much the same in the evening, just with different approaches but with the
added twist of braindead fuckwits who begin in the nearside lane of the
Southbound 312 and then decide they want the Westbound 316 just as I'm
indicating (a novelty for most of these bozos) my intention to turn off on
Hamton Road. Either that or some tosser shooting out of Twickenham Road
right across the bows, or alternatively, going down Hampton Road
themselves thinking "I can just get through this gap"...

And /what/ is that smell as you go round the roundabout heading South?

[1] although I'd take it over Hangar Lane Gyratory, any day.

So when I've seen you on the M4 it's been an alternate route or an
    alternate place of work?

    Just curious, loike.
Heh, actually, you're likely not wrong but given that for a considerable
amount of time there were old mattresses, fridges, and various other
fly-tipped delights nestling under that overpass with the occasional
abandoned shite-old-car (periodically, a shite-old-car that would be
torched) for variety's sake, I'd not be too surprised if it were a dead
    body...

It's when I don't have to take the bird to work and get to try making it
from the M25 to the M3 a bit quicker.
