Planning a tour down to South Spain and wondered if anyone has any
recommendations for a comfortable stop somewhere about 50 - 100 miles North
    of Andorra ?
Preferably with secure parking, not too expensive, friendly..... the usual
    wish list ...
    Thanks,
    Nick

There's a great B&B/Camping à le Ferme place just outside Castets, in
    the Landes area.

    <fx googles away>

Sorry, I can't find a reference, but I've stayed there a coupld of
times and it's dead nice, honest.

Nice place, but... 120 miles... and *west* of Andorra, init?
Heh. And one can follow the signs "Col du Portillon: Ouvert" and when
you finally get to Bagneres de Luchon you find the road to Portillon
with a barrier and a "Route barree" sign. Great.

BTW1, if heading south from Andorra to Ponts (province of Lleida [1])
at Coll de Nargo there is a diversion to the twisties in Coll de
Boixols (new asphalt in 2004) and Coll de Comiols (new asphalt in
2005), great views and almost no traffic. An experience.

BTW2, at Bassella, some 15kms before Ponts, there is a Motorcycle
    Museum worth a visit.

[1] "Lerida" if using a shite map that doesn't realize that official
names are in Catalan since the early '80s...

The answer is *anywhere* in France, but if you ge tthe chance (and can
find somewhere) it is worth a visit to Carcasonne
    http://www.viamichelin.com/viamiche...rLocation=Carcassonne&strCountry=eur&google=1

If camping then the "Camping del la Cite " is an excellent site in an
    excellent spot.
