Yup. I think you were the one who told me to hold off a month on buying
a set for mine. I'm glad I did. I like the bars right where they are.

Now what I want are foot peg risers.

after my neck surgery, i have a different set of issues to deal with
than before. I can handle craining my head upward at all for any length
of time. I got the risers to bring my back just enough so that I don't
    have to.

clamp the tank with your knees. hold yourself up with your back like the
    designer of your body intended.

Have you talked to a doctor about it? The condition may be easily
    corrected.

I believe cruisers have enough performance for 99% of the MC riding public.
There's surely enough performance to kill yerself in a corner.
And surely there's benefit in developing skills to push the limits of
performance on any type of bike.

er... perhaps that "killing yourself in the corner" is a function of
"enough power for the design" instead of simply "enough performance"?

  11. when a bike can corner better but is limited by dragging floor boards
and other hard parts well before it reaches its full lean angle
capabilities, that's a design error that impedes rider safety.

BUT, all the above, falls in one of the categories of reasons, why we
all ride motorcycles. I think we all think we're pretty dern good at
    taking the curves.
My wife thinks I know what I am doing, when we go into a curve, on our
ole Honda cruiser. I like cocking back and feeling cool. Others like
cocking forward and they probably feel cool. SO?

  13. I wouldn't call it a design error; IMO cruisers simply aren't designed
for what I'd call spirited riding; they're for, well cruising. Darn
good at it, too. But they're not sportbikes, nor even standards, when
    it comes to performance.[/QUOTE]

i'm not even talking about spirited riding. just normal around town
riding on some cruisers will grind parts that aren't supposed to grind.
fwiw, the new gold wing has some of those problems with parts touching
down way too early for what the bike can easily do . there's no excuse
    for that.
