    Number 14 was silly:

    14. What appeals to you the most about motorcycling?

    Risk
    Challenge
    Respect
    Nothing in particular

For me the answer was non of the above. I ride because
I enjoy it. Quiz said I need an FJR1300. Not a bad choice!

  5. My results:

    Yamaha YZF R1
You scored 10 moxie, 7 zeal, and 1 pomp!

It was a close decision with the Suzuki GSXR1000, but your personality
seemed a bit more R1-ish. (But hey, I could be wrong. Its only a silly test.)

    Before you critisize someone,
you should walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, when you critisize them,
you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I said more pressure on the right (I think it was a descending radius turn
to the right), I hoping that meant more counter steering, and "lean it like
    you mean it".

  13. I started out as a commuter when gas prices first shot past 2 bucks a
gallon back in '03. I went out looking for a cheap (used) bike to learn
on. I quickly discovered that the dealerships I visited carried very few
used bikes, and the ones they had were priced too high. Then I found a new
V-Star 650 and put my credit rating on the line. I spent 2 weeks circling
the neighborhood before getting my insurance and learner's permit. I
picked it up quickly, and had my M-1 endorsement within a few months. Then
I discovered touring on the weekend. Few other experiences could be
described as the meaning of life....

If I recall correctly from taking an MSF class, I *think* they told us on a
decreasing radius turn (getting tighter, or 'sharper') when you find yourself
going too fast, to hold steady throttle (I *think* it was because chopping the
throttle suddenly would "destabilize the suspension and change the traction
available to your tires" (?) and rolling on the throttle would increase your
speed, thus making it harder to negotiate the turn as it continued to tighten
    up.)

Then, I think the instructor said, you should look FURTHER (or "deeper") into
the turn (I think he may have cautioned us NOT to look to the outside of the
turn, even if that seemed natural, because "you go where you look, and you want
to go THROUGH the turn, not off the edge of the road") and then he said you
press harder on the INSIDE handlebar grip (that would be, what, the right
handlebar grip in a right hand turn, I think?) to "increase lean angle" (I think
that means it will make your motorcycle lean over farther, and - now, I'm not
real clear on this - by doing so, tighten up your line through the curve) and
    you'll probably make the turn.

One of the other instructors might have added something along the lines of "For
most riders, the motorcycle can lean over further than the rider is generally
    comfortable leaning."

But, that's just my hazy memory of a class I took once. It should not be
construed as riding advice. Every rider has to ride their own ride, and a lot
of experienced riders do just fine without taking "classes" on how to "ride" a
    motorcycle.

Besides, I'm probably remembering it completely wrong.

Perhaps someone with more experience than me can explain it better, or correct
my more obvious errors. That would help prevent anyone from accidentally
following my advice and possibly getting hurt!
