After 10,000K's it's time to replace the original rear tyre on my blackbird.
Used mainly for high speed two up touring & sedate cornering (by order from
rear seat), so wear is more a condsideration than grip.
    Recommendations appreciated.

    Bridgestone Battleax.

    Honda recommend them.

  3. Doesn't nerecessily mean they are the best though.

I hade a Battleax on mine from new. Replaced it with what was supposed
to be the identical tyre which then promptly lasted me 2300km to
canvas. I was burning $rubber faster than $fuel.

I ended up with Dragon Corsas and really liked them, good balance of
    grip and distance.

This was a couple of years back, but.

    Cheers

I had a 'Bird for 80,000k's. BT020 were the best tyre I ever used on it. I
also two up toured. About 10 to 11000 k's is all you can expect.

Try an Avon AV46-ST or just about any of the 'sports touring' tyres.
but not the sports touring Battlax.. they recommend the ultra high
performance sports tyre.. or a dunlop.. or a michelin... wish they'd
    make up their mind

Touring is better on two bikes. Commuting two up is more fun on a
    100cc.

  8. You talking front or rear?

I don't think I'm particularly tyre heavy, but never got more than
6000km from a rear. Usually a rear per service and a front every other
service. (Other than that bloody licorice Battlax that was rooted at
    2200).

My full website is down, but here's the old tyre page if anyone wants
    to send me some updates.

No it isn't. I've tried it.
My first rally was two up on a Suzuki A100 in 1972.

You've owned a bike long enough to wear out a long-wearing tyre??

    Must've been the TRX.
He let someone else ride it around for a year or two then he bought it
    back!

If the tyres last longer than the bike, they _must_ be good...
