Just contact NZ Express direct. They have LCL shipments
at about NZ$128 per bike each way, plus a small fee per container
for customs clearance etc. About a week between shipments.

Real savings. No bullshit. Why pay more.

    Group Moderator. I'm impressed.
Weren't you a million peaches a few posts ago.

Spam is advertising right. I was informing you ozzie gits
how to save money, not advertising. Wanker.

I seem to remember someone calling himself Dave posting
a great line of bullshit about freight prices. Isn't that advertising.
He says he's in the business after all.
I think he got routed by cheaper prices.

I have worked with enough kiwis to rather spend a week in the Gaza strip on
    ration packs.

Here's a reply to my mail to NZ-Express. And this is ONLY the NZ-side of
    things, at least double
that for the return-leg, then add the actual freight, then add charges on
    both sides at the time
shipping is commenced (port-charges/paperwork/ bill of lading etc), then add
    temp registration and
RWC in NZ, then add heaps of time to run around and get things
    done,ahhh...then you'll need a crate
to pack the bike, store it somewhere in NZ to be used on the return...

    copy/paste:

We don't get involved in shipping from Australia to NZ unless it comes
through one of our agents- IE Specific Freight or Freight On Board. I
suggest you contact an Australian forwarding agent for prices on this.

Temporary GST would be payable to NZ Customs for the full landed value
of the Bike & this is refunded by Customs after you leave NZ.

We would charge approx $200 per bike for clearance etc plus $150 per
bike to unload & handle. You will also face other charges such as Port
Service on the container say $150, plus cartage from wharf of $185 /20'.

This assumes bikes are not stopped by MAF or Customs for exams. This can
range from $75 to 150 per bike depending on what is found by the exam.

    Ah so YOU are Pete,
    but who is James.

Your explanation, if that's what it is, sounds like a load of shit.

The crap above is a lame attempt to justify an utter rip off. IMHO.

NZ Express are involved in shipping ANYTHING to and from Australia.
Customs clearance is done per container at about NZ$60.
There are no handling charges, the freight charge of $128 per bike includes
that. If you have the correct and approved crate, inspection won't be
    required
by MAF or NZ Customs. The crate costs about NZ$30 if you go to the
right source. A 20 ft container only costs NZ$1500 to freight each way,
and there's no Gst on international outgoing freight in NZ. If you can't get
at least ten bikes in one container, you must be doing something wrong.
I'm not sure about refundable Gst on the bikes. Can't argue about that.

The information quoted as from their "logistics Manager."
sounds like a bit of a cover up attempt. IMHO.

If the guy you are dealing with want's to prove his figures, ask
him to show you all his documentation, including freight invoices,
then you'll see the true facts. I believe he's making a bundle.
Ask yourself, what's he in business for.

Yeah, one and the same !!
    More ahhhh...
Now, if YOU and your mate say that...
Now, if YOU and your mate say that...
Now, if YOU and your mate say that...
Now, if YOU and your mate say that...
Well, you should make the killing then, whadda waitin' for?
Been importing stuff for 20 years into AUS from Europe/US and sorta know my
    way....
Then again, if YOU and your mate can do better than all other freight
forwarders around the globe...you just found your jackpot then.
In the meantime...a pot of Vaseline will help to get that head outta your
arse...and you're ready to rock and import/export, yeeha.
Keep that Vaseline handy though for the shafting you'll get from just your
    own customs/ freight agents alone...

    * Speedy has struck a chord with this rooster. Can't argue with my facts
so killfiles me. If he's been in importing for 20 years and has to use Dave
to get routed, he can't know much about the business. I wonder if he's in
on the routed route and making a cut himself. I thought vaseline went out
20 years ago. KY lube is the "in" thing now. Pardon pun.

Anyone wanting to freight a motorbike from NZ to Ozz and or back should
give a few NZ based freight forwarders a call, and get the facts from them
direct. NZ Express is one of the best in my opinion for what it's worth.

Glitch1 you'll need more than a killfile if you meet up with a BIG kiwi
    biker
called speedy in February. You might need that vaseline to extract your
    own head sunshine.

Oops...to make it even cheaper, Lanolin does the same job , don't have to
import, plenty of it around locally.

    Hi Dave M.

I'm sorry if this is sortof acting against your business, but, with folk
like Speedy there, one has to wonder why anyone would want to go to NZ,
    with or without a motorcycle.

  15. Hi Cam,

I'd really have something to worry about if this guy actually knew
    what he was talking about.

Sometimes this forum attracts dickheads - you've seen them come and
go. When they get tired of trying to convince someone with their
    bullshit they quietly go away.

Dickheads like this aren't hard to find even in NZ if you want to look
for them, but because the place (esp the South Island) is so sparsely
populated by comparison with most of the Aust East Coast you very
rarely come across anyone in some parts. I've ridden in the S.I. for
hours and not seen any other traffic and that was in Feb this year.

The roads and scenery are really THAT good, but don't take my word for
it - when Glitch comes back in April we'll hear some independent
comment which will surely overcome any bullshit coming from our mate
    Speedy.

    Kind regards

That's like asking why anyone would want to go to Tassie...
(some "fond memories" of a caravan-park caretaker-fuggwit in Queenstown
    surfacing :))
There's a rotten apple in every crate.
Funny though HIM/HER/ IT bringing up the supposedly-anti-NZ sentiment around
    here, hehe

*You might have your chance to discuss that with me face to face, sooner
    than you expect sunshine.

** You'd not be making money if these stupid ozzie fools knew how they
are being taken to the cleaners. Your mate glitch1 has them eating out of
his greasy little hands. He's said he's in the importing business. Looks
like a big jackup to me.

*** It seems fairly obvious I do know about freight charges on motorbikes
over the Tasman. Your little scam has been well and truly exposed.

If dumb ozzies still want to pay your prices, they deserve to be ripped.
All they need to do to get a far better deal is to ring NZ Express in
New Zealand. The cost of the call will be well and truly offset by
    the savings on freight cost.

They can deal direct with the freight company you use, and
not have to pay your charges.

What intrigues me is why he thinks he has any credibility. The sort of
guy who is threatening violence, has a fake email adress and won't even
tell us his real name, let alone the name of the business he purportedly
runs...the believability quotient doesn't stack up very high against a
guy that a helluva lot of people on here have met, who comes across as
    very genuine.

HSC has just finished I suppose...go to schoolies mate, gold coast is
packed I'd imagine. Stop watching your tapes of "A current affair" and
"today tonight" and go get a life.

BTW Speedy, lets just consider for a moment you're right, you can save a
couple of hundred buck by DIY, so what ? A lot of people buy $200K+ cars
when you can get vehicles with 4 wheels and engine as cheaply as a
couple of hundred bucks, what's with that, hey ? Don't they know if they
do all the work themselves they can keep it on the road and running far
cheaper than buying one of those rip off *new* cars...
