Real classic bikes?

I wonder if anyone on this group actually owns a bike which would be
recognised as a classic, by the large majority of people who feel that
things like RDs and Superdreams are not and never will be seen as
"classic" machines in the accepted sense of the word?

A bike such as the BSA Gold Star, should in my view be seen as a "real"
classic bike, where as something like a Bantam or B31 would most
    certainly not!

In terms of Jap bikes I would view an H1 as a proper classic, and
things like Dreams and RD twins as not.

A classic is in the eye of the beholder. Mine's a classic. Some would say
a classic POS, but in my opinion it is a classic.

The thing is nowadays it seems classic status is afforded to anything
more than about 10 years old..................seems to me more of a way
to put awful old shite into unsuspecting punters, than anything to do
    with bike having classic status!

Such is the way of life. A ZX Spectrum is considered by some a classic
computer, I however thought the BBC Micro far superior. Some think the Mini
a clasic car, others that it was just a shite British motor. Each to his
own. It depends what you want to pay.

Perhaps thise definition, if you replace "car" with "motorcycle" in the text
    is pretty relevant

My point here is that numptys are paying large sums of money for old
shitters, because people out to make a quick buck are suggesting this
old crap is classic! If you want to pay a couple of hundred quid for
one of these bikes, than thats fine, but paying another £1k on top in
the mistaken belief that its a "classic" is totally ridiculous!

Your question is mostly irrelevent, as you don't own, have ever owned, or
indeed have ever, ridden a motorcycle.

Please, **** off and get some therapy.

If so then its strange that I have such a wide knowledge regarding a
good cross section of road and competition machinery!

Again, apologies for feeding the troll. One last snippet then back in the
    KF he goes.

Ken, when ever you have been asked here to give some of your "knowledge" you
    always just carry on sniping.
No substance of your massive knowledge is ever given, not even an informed
    opinion.
You are an obvoius troll, unless you would like to prove otherwise.

I just finished rebuilding a Lucas 'Kx V' for one of my bikes, does that
count as part of a classic?
