I'm still confused by the fact that the jocks get to vote in their own
parliamentary elections as well as ours yet we don't get a vote in
theirs. Same goes for the sheep shaggers. I suppose the fact that
their 'assemblies' are pretty well toothless makes some kind of
difference.

 

Karachi was great, I particularly liked looking out of my hotel room
windows at the great unwashed sleeping on every available patch of
grass surrounding the hotel. As soon as anyone left the hotel they
were mobbed by beggars of all descriptions desperate for a hand-out.

It took me a while to realise that the armed guards sitting by the
gates of most of the big houses in Islamabad were there to prevent
dossers from sleeping or shitting in the gardens.

 

Beer is for pigs.

 

In uk.rec.motorcycles, Michael R. Kesti amazed us all with this pearl of
wisdom:

Poor pigs, I wouldn't do that to them.

 

For real fun, go down to the river and watch dead people float by. I had a
beggar come up toting a dead baby in her arms.

Quality. I thought it was rather extreme when I saw a beggar holding
his colostomy bag in one hand and an alms bowl in the other. This was
at a busy intersection in downtown Islamabad on a very hot day. I half
expected the kipper to be emitting steam as he stood there.

Oink Oink. The sickest I've ever been was in Scotland. Drank Black and
Tans all day and night while snacking on meat pies cause I was having too
much fun to eat properly. Apparently my American upbringing did not prepare
me for the onslaught to follow the next day. Food poisoning and hung over
equated to shitting chocolate milk out my ass while puking my guts out into
a waste basket. I was shaking like a dog shitting razor blades with hot and
frozen chills making every muscle in my body jump in spasmodic rhythm to the
puke and shit surges. The absolute worst hang over I have ever had (28
years in the Navy, I've had a few).

JHC. A day and night on the Black and Tans with all the meat (they're
only called meat, 'cos nobody really knows what's in them) pies you can
eat is utterly guaranteed to have you in the state you were in, if
you're not used to it.
