    I can't guess. Why did you do it? A 1200 H-D i a dirt bike y'know. Has a
great record on our dirt ovals. My wife has one she rides on the street
sometimes but she's crazy - also has a 600 Ninja.

My Father always bought British; Triumphs (Cars) then a Mk3 Cortina, then
a 1700 Marina Estate. It was a toss up between a new Mk5 Cortina Estate
or Toyota MkII Carina. The Toyota won and he's had them ever since.

TBH, it did surprise me as well that it was *that* far. And if you
accept the definition that Europe ends at the Ural mountains, well,
that's a lot further to walk because you most likely get your bike
    nicked along the way...

I wish you had too - going 85-100 requires so much attention that one misses
a lot of scenery. That's why I prefer to get off the superslabs and tour
    along at a leasurely 60.

The boards allow me to move one or both feet way out front or back under me
to avoid cramps and saddle sores.

Yep. There's at least three within a mile of here.

One of them, my dentist, has very nice teeth and rides a CB750.

Mind you, last time I saw him was about 2 years ago and I don't expect
to him or another one for at least 5 years.

800s were lousy. Certainly not a patch on the equivalently priced and
    spec'd BMW or Merc.

sweller emerged from their own little world to say
My uncle had one of those. Sadly he sold it before I learnt to drive in
    1980.

I remember spending a morning in a scrapyard in Carlisle as part of a
family holiday to the Lake District as the Triumph broke.

    wisdom:
My mate just came back from the States and said that most of the women
were fat and 99% of those had cunts that stank. He's an engineer so I'd
expect him to know these things.
He also said the Americans thought they were very hygienic. My mate said
that actually because they were so fat, they used three times as much
soap as everyone else so that's what gives the illusion of hygiene. He
said it was a shame they never used soap or deodorant under their arms
or between their legs 'cos they still fucking stank. Then again, I have
    never been there )

That'll be the same Euro that's stronger than the dollar and has been since
launch, albeit with a couple of blips early on, yes?
You *do*know that, technically, 'caucasian' means from the caucasus and,
therefore, black due to the ethnic peoples of that part of Europe?

France is ruled by the right-wing fuckwit.
You try getting lil' Johnny's school in the US to have a group prayer
then.... Its a sensible idea - keep state and religion separate. Catholic
kids in French schools can't display crucifixes either...
Free as long as you don't deny the truth
And the rights of idiots to own guns. Mmmmm. Nice.

I had a 2.2 HLS, it was the best shagging wagon I ever had. The car
irself was utter pants, but the seats were incredible once you'd managed
to convince a girl that you weren't borrowing the motah from your child-
    molester uncle.

The VF400F was similar but had a bikini fairing and stupid enclosed

  16. My SOJC is a Carina II estate. When you sit in it, the doors clunk shut
like new with no nasty rattles, the trim is firmly fixed and just feels
well sorted, the switchgear feels solid and reliable and the whole plot
just keeps on going. 16 years old and it drives like it did when new.
Boring as ****, mind, but it's just transport.

If you're offering a lazy ride through great scenery I'd love to take you
up on it. As it was, we had a stoopid schedule to keep, 15 countries in 15
days. It was a charity fundraising dash round Europe.
