Re: Harley Davidson Dyna ride height

  1. As Timo says, it can be a helluva long way.
Mine's a 2002 model and handles fine. I think the earlier models might
    have been a bit iffy.

  2. Depends. If I was riding north to south, I could easily ride 3000 miles
and still be in the same time zone. East to west - just two.

Please point out exactly where I said that the bike I rode was a
(cross)dresser???? Return to your Comprehension 101 tutor and have
them beat you for failing to learn your lessons.

Why would I be riding a dirt bike to Lynchburg? With hindsight I wish
I'd been able to find a dealer willing to hire out a Japanese or
European touring bike ... I'd have been way more comfortable, as
mentioned by one of the other posters the feet forward position just
isn't comfortable for me ... you'd be as well sticking an engine on an
    armchair.

That's why I was looking at the square column , you don't have to dial it
in every time you move it .
Probably be making mostly small motorcycle parts .
I'm an occasional poster over at RCM , learned a *lot* there .- including

Ebay is already my friend !
Actually , the lathe is a Monkey Wards branded Logan <Powr Kraft model
94TLC-2136 w/TLC-2139 qc box> that dates from the early 50's . Got all the
change gears too . And in fact received just today a like new bull gear
<ebay > to replace the one a PO tore up .

I believe a tourer is a motorcycle designed to do high mileages in
comfort, something with a fairly neutral riding position, luggage
capacity generally in the form of hard panniers, and some form oflow
maintenance drivetrain, more often than not a shaft drive.

What do you think a tourer is?
You're wrong. I've visited a couple, once I was passing one, and once
was to look at a buell, before I decided the ZRX suited me far better.

If you believe Harley compete in several areas tell me what their sports
bike is, how about their large trailie, what about their supermoto? What
do they have by way of a learner legal 125cc range?

Transmission stuff , all of it . They used a beefed up model of the earlier
2 stud 3 speed / reverse capable . I've been lucky to find some parts NOS ,
but stuff like endplay spacers are very difficult to find , and expensive
when you do . They completely redesigned and increased the size of almost
everything in it in '41 - and made it a 3 stud mount . Motor parts , these
motors were used until the 70's IIRC in servicar applications , there's tons
    available .
Some suspension parts are difficult , some aren't . Lotsa repop springer
    stuff available .

The five Black Buck raids were the longest long-range bombing raids ever.

Amusingly, the Belgrano was ex-US Navy. Originally USS Phoenix (CL-46),
survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour, but not a brace of Mk 8
    torpedoes from HMS Conqueror.
They won the war on 1st May 2003 - "Mission Accomplished". This is the
    peace they're losing.

  19. Best of luck with getting it together. A bike with family history is a
bit of a rarity and deserves to be kept going.
