Just on the way out this evening and I get a 'phone call from Classic Bikes
to tell me that I need to make more space in my garage as I've just won
    their project RD400F :)

Wooo Hoooo ..... looks like there's another renovation in the queue :)

  2. You don't want it .... really, horrible unfaired dirty smelly 2-stroke
    thing.

It would be a lot happier in my garage, bikes have feelings you know.

    ;-)

    Lucky cnut.

  3. ****. Did you *see* the picture of it? It looks like it had been dredged
up from the bottom of the ocean.

What CB was saying was: "Congratulations. We've saddled you with
unspeakable debt and hardship for the next three years."

    Well done, anyway.

A mate of mine reckons I've reached critical mass and bikes are now
    gravitating to me :)

I'm looking forward to it to be fair as they're (as you know) simple enough
    to work on :)

I have a genuine manual if you ever need it, with the E/F supplement.
If you ever need help or advice, especially on the anoraky things
regarding originality, then just shout me.

Btw, check the condition of the right silencer (2R9-14710-00 from
memory), if it's undented and unscraped then cherish it, they are like
rocking horse shit and a good used one will set you back over 300 quid.
If you find a NOS one you're the luckiest man alive, because I think I
had the last in the world a few years back from a shop in Coventry.

    Will do, ta.

What pleases me is nowadays I'm more financially able to keep an RD400 than
all those years ago when I did it on a minimal income :) I just hope it's
not too difficult to source bits!

Fucking well done that man. I decided to sell my RD400 last night.
Later I woke up and realised it was just a too realistic dream. Whew.
