So the 2007 Ulster GP was a wet one, so wet in fact the last two races
were cancelled. There are many fields to spectate from, the first one I
chose at Leathemstown Corner had me calf deep in mud. Later I found
Tullyhubbert, his brother Rob and young Andrew near Deer's Leap, it was
marginally firmer going but the daft sods had been sitting under brollys
    since 0930.

Had a late session on the RD. Replacement rear mudguard, new footrest
bar and brake pedal, a seat recovering exercise and the right model
points cover. That took me well past midnight so I wasn't to be found at
    the races until midday.

This RD is pretty well sorted now. Needs the rear subframe painting, a
new seat (base) and the seat side strips to finish. It already had:

    Complete engine recon
    New seals throughout
    Oil pump rebuilt
    New carb rubbers and reeds
    New points, plugs and condensers
    Exhaust joint rubbers
    Replacement silencers
    Battery

As can be seen in the pictures it also has a Cibie concave headlight,
Hagon shocks and DG cylinder heads. I have one standard head and am
    looking for another.

It rode really well, handling nicely with everything feeling tight. The
engine is about run in so I took it to 7000rpm. Power comes in over
5000rpm then she lifts her skirts and passes unsuspecting UJM's nicely.
    90mph came up quickly enough.

Sadly I think on completion this one will be for sale. Changes of life
mean I don't have room for such toys.

Thanks again to WUN, Lozzo and Pip for past help with this bike and
Blondie for endless cups of tea, rounds of toast and support.

    That looks really nice.

One point, certainly not a criticism, ISTR on my brothers RD 400 the decal
on the sidepanels had the '400' closer towards the centre of the speed
blocks. Probably an earlier model though I can't remember exactly which
    model we had.

  3. The paint, although excellent quality, isn't quite the right shade of
yellow, and the decals are pattern, as you noticed.

It looks bloody nice, Hog. Got to be £1500 worth, with those DG heads.
But if you can find a stock head, you can sell the DGs alone for
    £300-400, I think.

Heh, didn't notice the shade ... not that it detracts from it, unless you're
    a purist i guess.
Dunno what the market says but if I had the money I'd be tempted, used to
love my brothers RD. Almost as good as my old KH ... ;)

Well it has to go. Lozzo will confirm that the engine is a peach now. He
will also confirm that the colour isn't quite perfect but it's as near as
and not a bad job. I don't know if the decals are perfect or not. "The Man"
certainly didn't mention them to me.

The new seat, covered, with a non rot plastic base form the man in Berwick
    is only 135squids BTW.
