Thank's Loz, SEP were just the ticket. They arranged collection from
Nige this Thursday. Full crank rebuild, new pistons in .50 or .75 as
appropriate, rebore or hone, £266 the lot tops.

    Thanks to Nigel for assistance.

    <excited squeal>
Ooo it could be together and running sweetly again soon.
Suppose it might be good to get the leccy ignition done same time if I
    can find a conversion.

Call Newtronics in Blackburn or wherever they are and ask to speak to
Sean. Tell him Mika from Hull's mate Laurie put you on to them.

Newtronics make the old Piranha ignitions, but now with worthwhile
    improvements.

The best improvement you can get with Piranha ignitions, is achieved by
chucking them in the bin................like Boyer they are total
shite, and can cause no end of problems!

Again you show your total and complete ignorance. Newtronics is the
*improved* version of the old Piranha system, and highly regarded by the
RD owners I know who've fitted them. If it fails, the only problem it
can give is that the bike fails to run, no big problem.

If its anything like the old Piranha systems, then it can cause far
more problems than just not running................I find it hard to
grasp why shite cheap and nasty stuff like this is so highly regarded?

You really are some prehistoric mong, aren't you. What part of
"Newtronics is the *improved* version of the old Piranha system, and
highly regarded by the RD owners I know who've fitted them." do you not
understand? Come on Brains of Britain, what does your mighty knowledge
suggest then, as an alternative to Newtronics/Piranha?

If you want to believe advertising blurb then thats up to you
entirely................and as most RD owners are not that bright and
would certainly have difficulty setting up std ignition, its not
surprising the Piranha one seems better.

Interesting that the kill file seems to be a refuge that is very
useful, if your only knowledge of bikes relates to what you have been
told, or read, rather than what you have actually had any first hand
    experience of....................lol

Nah, we had to turn it off as the 'mericans were complaining that it
