Oh Dear. I have just read about the bloke who did the whole thing on a 100cc
chinese commuter bike. The man is clearly bonkers.

He was recovering from a heart bypass, and didn't think he was up to
    piloting his Wing outfit.

    He is bonkers, though.

ISTR the linking on a Guzzi is different to the linking on a Honda.

ie. apply the rear on a Guzzi and it only applies the rear.

However, I may well be wrong.

What I don't find confidence inspiring is going down a 25% gradient,
with loose gravel everywhere, knowing that applying rear brake will also
apply the front. There's a fair risk of locking the front if you're not
    _very_ careful.

Managed is different to actually feeling comfortable with it.

I didn't, and never will under the circumstances. However, I did manage
to do it, and would more than likely do it again.
Which is an entirely unrelated subject..... when you've covered the
miles I have on bikes with a reserve tap (must be pushing 150k miles),
then moving to one without feels, well, odd, really.

So buy a proper bike then, one with proper brakes.

    You are.

Foot brake applies L/H front disc and a proportional application on the
rear. 'Hand' brake applies front R/H disc.

The only time that has been an issue, for me, is in snow.

Gravelly roads are approached no differently than I would on a
conventional bike. IIRC the roads around Sarrat are pretty unnecessary
in the grit department and it wasn't a problem there.

I think you're making this an issue because people, such as Bear, have
issued the edict that linked brakes are not suitable for riding gods such
as themselves and you've unknowingly bought into this specious belief.
    It's just a self-belief thing.

Those road riders who declare linked brakes are the work of the Devil and
impinge on their God given riding skills are talking shit. IMNSHO.

I just don't see the point of all the unnecessary plumbing and bollocks
to have brakes that you're not fully in control of for every situation.

I have a bad feeling now, I thought it was the one actually on the road
through Lunnon, in plain sight . . . Oh well, scratch 20 points then.

Eh? We went through Lunnon, and didn't see one.

Did you go up the steep hill next to the shop/pub?

Bit of a long haul to go back for, innit?

Into Lunnon, past the only right turning, there is a down & up & there it
    was on the left . . .
Nah, about 60 miles for me, I'll take another peek next time I go to M&P in
    Swansea.
