Bastard garages. Bike has been in for a top end rebuild now for 3 weeks,
preceeded by a pair of new tyres & rear pads. First off it took a week to
fit the tyres, then another week to get the engine apart, then a delay while
most parts arrived, but not the piston rings. They finally got the new rings
on tuesday, and yesterday they managed to snap a head stud bolt.

Meanwhile, amid promises of having the bike back, I was all set for my first
jaunt in the round britain rally, down through devon & cornwall for three
nights. Although the delayed bike return meant spending 2 hours on the phone
on wednesday booking B&B's instead of camping, due to no time left to fit
the new(ish) rack. Now I've cancelled the B&B's, because what he didn't tell
me yesterday is that the only source for the afformentioned head stud is
david silver spares, and it won't arrive until tuesday due to the bank
    holiday.

Of course, if they had actually rebuilt the head when the bits arrived,
instead of waiting for the piston rings before starting the rebuild, then
they would have snapped the bolt on tuesday, had a replacement by thursday,
and finished the rebuild by today - and I'd have my bike for what looks like
being a very nice, sunny long weekend to go riding on.

    I pissed off
