I think I must be missing something here; that looks in the first photo,
    like a perfectly good CBR1000.

    Or am I wrong?

It's still a perfectly good CBR1000, just a little modified to suit the
    owner's tastes now.

    Right there with you.
I quite like the look of the end product , but the idea of ratting a
perfectly good bike just seems wrong somehow.

Well, up to them, their money etc... Just think it's a shame to technically
trash a perfectly good bike, when you can pick up something just as
mechanically worthy but in need of cosmetics as salvage.

    My thoughts exactly.

I mean Buell do it, but then the bike they started off with is a perfectly
shit bike in the first place... ;-)

  10. Perzactly. My Bandit was trashed, I had no bike and the only thing I
could afford was the 'onda up there^^^; anything else in the
"traditional" style was way over my budget, and although I'd been in
there (the dealer) a few times and seen it, I'd overlooked it.

Desperation in equal measure as lack of cash, I slightly begrudgingly
bought the CBR. It went well but I couldn't quite get over the fact it
was a bit of a plastic pig :-(

What happened next was that it had started to grow on me but in the
interim, some scrote nicked the bellypan and after a few weeks of
putting it off, I decided to take the plastic off, undress it and give
it a good clean. That's when I decided to keep it that way, the only
thing was it needed a new identity.

That's when I got the (very much appreciated) help of the Garagepixies
    and Speedyspic engineering.

I can't help feeling a little despondent TBH, but if I'dve bought the
right bike in the first place, I would never get the admiring looks I do
    now ;-)

  11. Cheers. Cutting the pipes made a noticeable difference.

Now, I'm off out on it to scare a few virgins :)

Woo and yay to you sir.

My GTR is looking similar nowadays. All I need to do to finish it is bob
the arse end of it and de-badge it.

Good on you WC, takes balls to **** up a decent bike like that[1], and I
reckon it's paid off. It looks well tough. Watch those fuckers move out
    the way when you're filtering.

[1]I've made one post on 200mph.org.uk saying I'm gonna hack up a
Hayabusa, and they seem to have banned me for it. Bwaaaahahaha.

Not only that, it seems that things don't want to be parked next to rats
    either.
Heh.. nice one. :) I'd like to see a piccy of that, if you ever get
    round to it.

    A CBR1000, surely.

Mechanically nothing has changed, same engine, same chassis, same
    performance, same MOT.

The only difference is it doeesn't look like a jelly mould now.

FWIW I think it looks purposeful, if a little unfinished round by the
    clocks.
