The instigator of the policy was the then GLC she just took it up as
it looked like a vote winner. Not that the succeeding governments did
anything to reverse the policy.

 

You probably have to go to appeal to get past the objections of
neighbours and the geriatric local councilors, then you win and they
won't talk to you ever again. That's one bonus, the other is the money
is in your account.

 

Guns don't kill people, politicians do.

 

That and simply what the market will take.

I've mentioned this before I think, but when we were looking at new
builds a couple of years back, we looked at the exact same design of
house on two developments - one in Bracknell, one in Thatcham. £100k
difference in the prices.
