I'll bet you a fiver I can get an insurance quote for a ZX-10R that's
comparable to what you pay without needing an alarm fitting.

    I haven't lost my mind, it's
backed up to a floppy disc
    that's around here somewhere.

Of course you can. Now phone up Carol Nash and see if you can have one
without an alarm. I didn't say all insurance companies insisted on
alarms, the majority do though. It's an unfortunate fact of life that
most insurance companies rate a slightly reduced risk of theft higher
than any inconvenience to the vehicle owner.

I doubt if you've tried getting quotes for a ZX10R because of your
theory that they're not suitable for carrying luggage. I've wasted my
time phoning around for quotes and they ranged from out and out stupid
to realistic. Most wanted a Thatcham approved alarm or
immobiliser, kept in a brick built garage, minimum 5 years no claims
gained on a group 17 bike, no modifications and a nice high excess
payment in the event of a claim. It's a lot of hassle but worth it
    imo.

Btw, I've looked to see if I could get insurance cheaper if I had a
Flitwick address rather than a Bedford one and I can't. Not that it
matters because I'd pay a couple of quid more for the advantages it'd
    bring.

Lozzo, mate, you're wasting your time arguing with Bonners on this one.

He has to have an alarm.

No she didn't. She hates the poxy fucking things, especially when she
sets one off when she goes in the garage.
