    Dear Halfords,
If possible I'd like to dispose of your gloves (at a
very unreasonable 7.99 a box) *after* I've worn them and not before.

In reality I'd probably have less grime on my hands if I just rubbed
soap into my hands before I started and binned your shitty gloves.

Well, quite, and I have some but it's a faff and I'd much rather that
the gloves were some fucking good.

I prefer Boots' finest @ 99p a packet. They seem to last pretty well so
    long as nails are trimmed.

Try cutting your fingernails. Or stop being such a poof & get yer hands
    dirty.

It's where the ratchet knurling was against the palm of my hand that
they ripped. And my nails are cut.

I try to keep my hands 'clean' for work. It's a thankless task though.

Aye, mine have spent much of the year covered in paint, either from
doing the flat or the 'vette. The POR-15 chassis paint was the worst -
absolutely nothing short of an angle grinder removes that from skin.
Unfortunately I didn't know this before getting it all over my head,
    arms & hands. Thank christ we didn't have a hot summer & I wasn't
    working naked.

Get them from Costco instead; I think they're about a fiver for three
boxes, and the gloves seem to be much better quality.

    7.99 a box? Faaaack that.

You could always save the rubber ring that gets left around your
wrist when the glove disintegrates to use as comedy calamari
    next april fools day.

Machine Mart for disposables Burnt. Not THE cheapest supplier, but a box of
100 is usually less than a box of 25 from Halfrauds. And I've never had any
crap issues with them either and I use LOTS of them.
A barrier cream is a good idea too.

Bad form and all, but I just remembered that there's an alternative to latex
disposables and they're far more resilient to bikey stuff like paint
thinners and such like. They're blue btw and latex gloves aren't.

    Much better than barrier creams.

If you like, but I prefer a cream designed to repel solvents.

  17. Chemistry has bugger all to do with it, I am a cheapskate and one of
those two has always been available from normal household stock whereas
barrier cream doesn't seem to like living with me and goes to live
elsewhere when I am not looking.

We share a son it would seem. If ANYTHING goes AWOL at my place, I know
    exactly where to start looking.
