Well, at least he did have the grace to say that was on the clock and
    not real speed.

The paramedic was a wanker though, firmly of the opinion that most
bike accidents are caused by the rider.

The thing I've found though is that quite a few bikers ARE like that -
utter, egotistical wankers who simply cannot see that they are doing
anything wrong and think it's top stuff to ride like a dangerous incompetent
    fool.[1]

[1] There is a difference between Champ/Bonners type riding and the people
I'm describing - these are not fast, they're dangerous.

Obviously because they were overtaking by "double yellow lines"

Thing is though, that it didn't matter - the impression was 185mph - which
    Vine leapt on.
The guy did more damage to biking in those two minutes then I think I could
manage in a decade - and he TOTALLY played to what Vine wanted.

Such an ego... "I'm such a top rider me. Wif me superbike".

Er.. the stats are implying that rather a lot are...

Did I hear her right? I thought she was claiming 64 deaths on the A40
this year alone "and it's only May"

    205MPH? Really?

Name be three standard production bikes that really do 205MPH, go on.

Hint: the Gixxer thou, 12R, Blackbird, and Hayabusa don't do over 190 in
    stock form.

I don't think they, on the whole, do - because other motorists move out the
    way/compensate.

And they don't indicate over 186mph.

There's a letter in this months Bike telling off one of the test riders
for admitting he did "weeeeeee" mph on a ZX-10R road test. Smacked
    wrists and all that.

Missed the programme was it the usual stuff! My dad just texted me about
the 180mph guy and said "enjoy it while you can" :)

No, Essex Twat claimed "I do 180 on the road, and over 205 on the
    track".

To which I burst out laughing.

Perhaps he meant on the dyno....

Hint: I suspect that if he had said that it did a mere 178mph I'm sure a lot
of radio2 listeners would still be outraged.

You can do a lot more then 100mph around some corners.

This one is quite good too :

Roger, am talking here about quiet contry roads in Cheshire, some of them
unclassified, & do not see that many motorists, on roads such as these you
do not expect a powerul MC to suddenly come up from behind you, or turn in
from side road, at speeds in excess of 100mph, but you I see this kind of
behaviour regularly, and it is intimidating at best & always dangerous.
    Stuart in Mnachester"

HTF does one turn in from a side road in excess of 100mph?
