I was riding along the Reefton Spur the other day, and a rock or
something must have flicked up and punctured my radiator. There is a
small water pistol amount of water leaking from the area, and the
slight mark on the radiator itself.

Can anyone recommend a repairer in Melb? - I've been told not to go to
Natrad etc. as they don't have right the gear to do the alloy
    radiators....

Oh - and get this - the replacement cost of an 04 GSX-R750 radiator is
    about $700.00!!!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance to anyone with the info.

Sounds cheap, considering the number of parts and the amount of work required
to fabricate the radiator... say compared to the replacement cost of a fairing
or petrol tank. Let your fingers do the walking and ring your local bike shop
or bike wreckers and ask them who they recommend for radiator repairs. Google
reveals that Bike-Rads at 59 Bennett St Dandenong 9793 2798 have been
recommended in the past if you're on that side of town.

You should see some other prices, makes a lousy 750 pale...

As Nev says, even if you're NOT close, those guys are GREAT. Only good
experiences so far and reasonable as well.
    Bike Rads/ Dandenong.

  4. Ouch. Begs the question: where the hell can I get a protective
grille for the NT650? The radiator is almost completely naked, which
doesn't bode well for the next time they resurface the road and some
caged prick ignores the 60kmh sign and blats past at 80kmh with a shower
    of stones.
Back to the engineering shop for a $50-per-hour custom-made
    solution? - sanbar

The problem I find with most of the off the shelf radiator guards is that
when you look at the mesh it's really not going to do jack shit for the
radiator anyway! You need something more like the heavy duty flyscreen stuff
you get on some security screens etc. I can't imagine it's too good for
overall air flow then though :(
