I'm back with Danny Imberg spannering the new to us 2009 ZX6R he
bought. He hasn't had the time or money to do much to it, so we're
still running out of the crate suspension and all we've changed so far
is gearing, tyres, silencer and bodywork.

First race was Saturday and was on a damp track with a dryish line on
slick front and treaded rear - he came in second to Grant Wagstaff[1]
mainly because he had the wrong gearing and no 14 tooth front sprocket.

Sunday came, and with it came rain - this was a good thing. The gearing
suited the rain, so we just backed off the damping and stuck a new set
of wets on. Result was 2 wins in the 2 races he did, the second one by
    over 9 seconds.

The whole round was being filmed for Motors TV and Hottrax, who run the
series, robbed us of our No.2 mechanic Catherine as a kinda brolly
    dolly for the TV cameras.

Overall I'm bloody pleased with the results. Next round is Mallory Park.

[1] An old mate of mine who I've known since we were both RD/LC
hooligans in our teens. I hadn't seen him for over 20 years. He's
running a tuned and prepped R6 with very expensive Ohlins suspension,
    kit ECU, quickshifter etc.

Heh. Might be doing a trackday with them in Portugal next month if I get the
go-ahead from the hospital. If not, I'll just go along to watch and have a
beer. Anyone from around here going?

If you do go, Danny and another mate called Ratty will be instructing.
There's also a few other local lads going, including Graham Falcke who
used to own GLF Accessories in Flitwick.

Portimao is supposedly an awesome circuit.

My sister has a boat there. In the harbour. And it's about 3 hours from
    here. You're not going then?

I don't think they have it in Portugal.

And what don't you like about paella? The rice or the bugs?

He may be a while replying. Just after his post above he updated his
    Facebook status to:
"is off to hospital again. As much as I've enjoyed a bloody good weekend,
the swelling and pain in my left kidney has got too much and I'm in need of
pofessional help to see what's wrong"

<moves Lozzo above "Nige murdered by an Ebayer" in dead pool>

They sent me home with Diclofenac for the pain and advice to book an
appointment with Guy's and St Thomas's again. looks like I have more
    stones.

My kidney is fucking killing me - the pain had got to the unbearable
stage by 10pm last night and isn't that much better since having a
Diclofenac torpedo up my choccy starfish and IV paracetamol via a
    canula in my left hand
