    specifically for a '01 CBR929RR-1.

Google turns up ARD Racing as a likely candidate - anyone used them?

Is this just a cheap way of getting non-minging bodywork, or are you
    actually going racing?

not actually going racing, no. And - hey! - I actually like the
colourscheme on my 'blade which is why I bought it in the first place.

I looked at finally selling the thing a few months back, and realised
the second hand market for ~5 year old sports bikes is utter shit.

This fact, combined with the fact I don't have another large CC sports
bike any more has made me decide to keep the thing just as a track-day
    toy.

Presumably you can then put the gay "white carbon" exhaust back on?

    it's actually a kevlar/carbon weave, and is a sort of silvery-gold
    colour.
    it's bling, donchaknow.

I can believe that, and ARD aren't the cheapest.

There is a problem insofar as the later 'blades don't seem to be well
represented by aftermarket fairing manufacturers unlike, say, the CBR6
    or any Gixer.

ARD do (I believe) the best quality.
Two grades (weights) available. They do full colour pre-preg (1) so you
don't have the hassle of painting or being Mr Whitey and it doesn't look
    so gash when scuffed.
Call them first, waiting lists can be long.

Which potentially makes it a lot cheaper

    [Snip]
    Good to know.
    Yes, I know that now.
that bit hadn't occured to me, but of course you're right.
I've spoken to them already, because I wanted to know if they could
match the colour of my 'blade's tank - they can.
10-12 weeks, which is fine by me - I won't need them until next spring
(which given the current seasonal precession[1] would appear to be
    around next July).
    how so?

[1] it's 19C here today, at the end of October!

It's surprising how many people who are vain enough to have their white
track bike bodywork painted nicely. Even if you do it yourself it's a
    saving of ~£50 in materials.

right, right - no the way I read your post was "waiting lists can be
long...Which potentially makes it a lot cheaper" and I couldn't
    understand what you meant.

However, yes, buying the panels precoloured is cheaper than having
them painted. I don't need "nice" - just "acceptible".

If these products seem very cheap, they will be laminated using mat rather
than cloth, and very likely to break/shatter, after very minor impact.

Never seen any Kevlar thats been dyed silvery gold...............then again
I have never seen or heard of a Fantic 250cc bike that was made in 1979, so
I guess you are as good at bullshitting about composites, as you are about
bikes that were never produced by the Fantic factory ever.

Ask AndrewR about fitting his replacement top fairing unit...

There was much hacking about, and extensive use of cable ties.
