Race Exhausts...

Has anyone on here been pulled over for having a race can on their bike, and
if so, did you just get a quick telling off or what?

 

Yes. I was given a 7 day wonder. So I changed the can, got the ticket
stamped and then put the race can back on.

Also got a talking to for the small number plate and dark visor.

 

ISTR you don't consider a number plate as a necessary item anyway

heh, I like a quick release system.

 

Not yet, but whenever I've been pulled over the race can has been the
least of my offences.

I'm sure it'll happen at some point and to be honest I don't like the
race can on the Thou. It's a bit too loud, not a very nice sound and
it bugger the FI at low revs. As soon as it gets warm enough to spend
some time in the garage the standard can will be going back on. It's
not like the bike isn't powerful enough without the race can.

 

Louder then my ZRX?

 

Louder than my b12?

These ART cans could give the '02 Team UKRM bike a run for its money
in the stupidly loud stakes.

Honestly can't remember, but probably. I think it's louder than the
Micron that was on the 750 and it's a much harsher sound.

I'll probably rip it off and flog it. An immacluate Remus Titanium
can has got to be worth a couple of quid.

Yeah, about 6 years ago. M25 going to work, winter rush hour, pissing
down, going at steady 60mph on my GSXR750 - they pulled me & did me
for the can & small plate. Got fined for both - I think it was 25 quid
each.

What got my goat up was that all the while this was going on there
were cars blatting down the fast lane in the crap & very busy
conditions about 2 foot apart - but no, my exhaust was obviously far
more important than that.
