The Tenere came with one years worth of free RAC breakdown/recovery
cover and it's now come up for renewal. Nice people that they are
they'd like to help me by taking my money again and I'm wondering if I
should contact them to let them know my opinion of the service they
offer or just **** them off without responding.

These are the cunts that insisted on sending a normal van to have a
look at the bike when I said it wasn't charging and had an engine
fault light permanently lit up. Not a good start. When the guy turned
up and confirmed what I'd told them they had the cheek to tell me I'd
need to wait at least 4 hours for a bike recovery vehicle to collect
the bike or ride it to a dealer with the van following to give the
battery a quick boost if it broke down.

**** them, they're not getting my money.

I guess I've just been lucky, used them 3 times for the bike in the
last 10 years, sorted me each time with a max wait of 45 mins.

Time 1 - Overheated and siezed on M11, correct recovery first time.,
Time 2 - Clutch cable snapped, RAC man fashions a repair, good bloke.
Time 4 - Battery dies, quick charge and jump start. Enough to get me
    home.

    So, no complaints.

9 hours before being on our way in a 90% knackered courtesy car with my
car not returned for approximately a week with nowhere to legally park
the courtesy car because I have a reg linked parking permit.

They extended my cover for 2 months as a shite gesture to the fact that
perhaps that's the sort of thing that could have been done better
    although there's no contractual obligation.

    I'd not renew if I still had a car, but I don't.

I think I'll be crawling back to green flag if I get another cage, they
use contract killers but they've never left me stranded for long as soon
as 'lone female' is suggested, they've also actually fixed a car on the
roadside rather than just scraping it up.

The RAC fault was a poorly connection on the alternator which could have
been fixed in a couple of mins, their idiot couldn't diagnose it.

I still seem to be a bit cross :/

Any recovery service, do what I did. Just tell'em you're a diabetic,
and you aren't carrying any medication with you. There's a small
chance they'll offer to bring some out, but there's more of a chance
they'll get out to you sooner...

  12. OK, but given your Timo-esque record last year, some rescue service is
    essential.

Why else would I keep using CN when I insure my bikes?

    Heh :)

Had the renewal throuhg for Jean's Aprilia.... 300ukp.
Did the usual key details into CN website and hey presto , 133UKP.

Then rang up to speak with droid, let him do some speil about searching
for better quotes, he came up with 200ukp. I pointed him at the CN website
    quote.

He went away and matched it.

When pressed for why the diffs, he went on about how the website involves
no one actually being involved and the costs taken into account.

I wasn't in the mood for a full on discussion, so did not ask how that
differed from a computer sending out a renewal with no human interaction.

Nor the fact that I have now wasted a lot of their time to get what they
could have given me/Jean in the 1st place :)

Its a game, so I play along with them :)
