Much as I suspect you and PIp are doing a double act here... a Bandit
    600 is not really comparable to a GSX-R 600.

All depends on who's riding the Bandit and who's riding the Gixer.

No double act involved. I made the point about a Bandit not being a
sportsbike in my post, you skim-reading Bokker. Perhaps if you were
to place a beer crate on your chair and sit on that, you'd get close
enough to the screen to be able to read all of a post.

I did read your post , but it was going on about scouts. so I assumed
you and the spic were doing some sort of double team act.

I believe one of the mags tried this out recently and they discovered
that 020's are actually pretty good for the road on sport bikes. Not
    the track, but the road.

In short, the gist was that _most_ (but not all) riders are wasting
their money fitting the stickiest rubber because they never get close
to actually using it to it's full capabilities.

I also thought it interesting when Bike's lot took a Triumph 600 out on
track with those yellow retread things - and still managed to go round
    quickly.

Not just rubber and stickiness - think profile, too. Makes a
difference turning in and cornering. And if you're still looking at
'Sports/Touring' tyres like the 020, the Avons beat them hands down in
    any case.
I seriously doubt that many people use any component to its full
    capability - road or track.

Well yes, but as the OP indicated "motorways" most of the profile will
have been worn off by the time he gets to doing any cornering.

So in short, WC should just move somewhere with corners and fewer
    motorways.
I'm not (at the moment) - but if I do, do they do them in odd size
(like 19" fronts and 150 rears?)

But they have excellent road holding.
