R1's: What's the Catch?

  1. Back in the 70's they were all unfaired. IIRC the shell came along in
    the 80's when a lot of bike shops were selling more RD350s than
    Tortoises.

    *ding* when I took Bonners 10R out for a spin I was amased just how much
    faster it was compared to my old bus. Not just top end but low and
    mid-range too.

    I was riding round on a CBR1000, and still am, but nothing could prepare
    me for the enormity of the power.
    The faster you go, the smoother it gets IME.
    Just enjoy riding it.

    For riding round London, forget it, it's just too much effort, which
    reminds me, I need to find which tyres are the best for grip and
    longevity (motorways, see) but when you get out of the pothole and
    diesel strewn filth of the city, it's just a beautiful thing.
