No reserve, yet the starting bid is $3900, so um is that like a reserve?

Might be worth a try - I doubt he`ll get a bid with a starting price that
high

 

Just coz you can't bid lower than $3900 doesn't make $3900 a reserve,
coz a reserve is a _hidden_ unknown amount that you can't bid.

The difference between a starting bid and a reserve is simply that one
is known and shown and the other isn't.
