"Dealers have been given instructions on how to correct problems with
    clutches on 2004 R1s.
Yamaha says the fault only occurs on small numbers of bikes and that it is
usually picked up at first service. Dealers have to spend an hour cleaning
grease from the clutch plates to rectify it, with Yamaha picking up the
bill. It has not been made a recall as it's not a safety issue.

A Yamaha UK spokesman said: "This has only affected a handful of bikes out
of more than 1200 sold so far, which is a tiny percentage."

What effect would grease on a clutch plate cause?

    Slip, spin, possibly grabbing.

Oh, and the back end to step out really easily, enabling smooth and
controllable powerslides and backing in to corners. Allegedly.

But considering the person it's aimed at appeared to completely miss the
point, isn't it getting a bit old?

[1] This is not a girly grin but a genuine smile based on the mental
picture I have of Lady Nina clad in her fetish leathers and staring at
Champ who is wearing those lace up leather pants he had on a few years
ago. Champ is trying to persuade the sheep who is wearing leather to
leave Sweller and come to his pad.

If you want to do a girlie grin you do it. **** 'em. Metaphorically.
Molly would you like to accompany me to the perverts rally? You may
have the ticket gratis, you'll be very welcome and my club will look
    after you.

I know they can always pick their own roundabout and I'll bring my
GS500. Seriously though, I was a little OTT back in *MARCH* but I have
been careful ever since but I'm now formed the opinion that boys will
    be boys.
I'm not around then otherwise it could be fun.
There is one somewhere. It may have been Jen's leathers. I'm sure
    someone will have a copy.
    I have a vivid imagination.
