    Except that we don't any more.

    In 1998 the option of the death penalty for Treason and Piracy with Violence
    was repealed in the Crime and Disorder Act, along with the military offences
    of:

    Serious Misconduct in Action
    Communicating with the Enemy
    Aiding the Enemy or Furnishing Supplies
    Obstructing Operations or Giving False Air Signals
    Mutiny, Incitement to Mutiny or Failure to Suppress a Mutiny

    Then in May 1999 we ratified Protocol 6 of the European Convention on Human
    Rights, commiting the government to the permanent abolition of the death
    penalty.

    So from now on, you have to shoot burglars yourself :)
