After my incident with the deer, I was left with a dented can. Looking
to pick up something to replace it with on ebay and came across item
    130125029749 (Quill T3).

A quick look suggests that there is no rejetting or other tweaking
required - is there anything else I should be considering?

For those who are familiar with Quill T3, the web site shows a number of
    different finishes:

The ebay item is described as "annodised titanium" - I think this won't
look good on a dark green Sprint, what think those with some taste?

Speaking as someone who's renowned the world over for excellent taste
in motorcycle colour schemes, I reckon it'll look shite. Nothing a bit
of black barbecue paint won't sort though.

I have a Quill T3 on my Bandit 1200. It seems to be fine, sounds
better than the stock can and gives it a bit more oomph.

Aesthetically, it'll be behind you, so it doesn't matter...

Anyone know what this means, from the Quill website?

"Gas mass flow rates through the exhaust change as a direct function of
the engine speed, so the functional characteristics of the silencer are
determined by the rpm of the engine. At lower engine speeds, the T3 is
designed to function as a 'combination' (reactive/absorptive) silencer.

At higher rpm (higher gas mass flow rates), pressure build-up in the
rear chamber shortens and straightens the apparent gas path. This
promotes optimum engine breathing. In practical terms this typically
means that from upwards of 4000-5000 rpm* the silencer will perform in a
similar manner to a straight-through race pipe."

Go for it. The Quills on Eddies (now defunct) falco sounded fucking
    amazing.

Yeah, but the T3 is road-legal, isn't it?

A single road-legal can on an in-line four is going to sound a bit
different to a pair of race cans on a twin.

I've got an annodised titanium one on my blue ZX9R, it looks lush and
sounds great. Although I still haven't put it back on since the MOT.

On a green bike, I'm not convinced.

I thought the original post was about a Bandit, and was too bone-idle to
go back and check. Life's too short, etc.

It's road legal though isn't it? The Quill T3 that is - same as you
    have?

So I wonder why the need (for Switters) to change it for the MOT.

I don't have the T3, but I have an annodised titanium Quill slip-on end-
can. I forget the exact model designation.
