    Ooooh nice. I've wanted one of those for years. Ditto with the dilemma
    though. I kept Bike magazine's 1976 review of the original one for
    years, unfortunately lost in a house move.

    I can still remember the writer's description of how when the exhaust
    broke, it sounded like he was being overtaken by a Massey Ferguson.

    It was the supposedly the fastest production machine (132mph IIRC) of
    it's time.

    But Alan Cathcart says that the original 900SS would do 140mph,
    and a Z1 133mph....

    They sound like that with a working and complete exhaust system.

    The gearchange is a little, shall we say, Aveling and Porter.
