Are the Yoshimura Suzukis in AMA, based on 2006 bikes? Or does the AMA
SB not require the same number of exhausts as the road bike? Because in
all the pictures I can find, they're riding bikes with one exhaust.

Not over here it isn't ;)
WSBK is a silhouette formula. If the road bike has two exhaust cans, the
race bike has to as well. At some tracks, Yamaha run a dummy can with
the exhaust only going through one side.

that's just plain silly - how come they don't enforce the starter
    ignition as well?

oh nevermind, the rules are from the same bunch that brainstormed
twins need that exact 200cc (tossed up number that won't change
overtime) to compete with the 4s.
