I post one reply to a request for info in
alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.abit, on Monday at 17.38 using my new munged
identity(1), and it only takes 2 days to almost the hour to receive a
    Nigerian spam email!
This hi-speed global community is getting too much for me. :(

    (1) It's my first attempt to try and get the spam into a seperate folder
    for easy deletion!

Kev you have Turnpike, all you need to do is to set it to reject any
mail aimed at user "lion" and it will. No need for additional spam
    mailboxes.

    Bad form, excuses etc..

As a follow up, can someone decipher the spammers actual email address,
so that the other spam bots can pick it up and offer him a large
    penis/breast enhancement/viagra whatever....

Well, I've set it so that it goes to a dead letter mailbox, so that I
can check I'm not rejecting emails I actually want.
I tried to spoof my Freeserve address, but the German server wouldn't
    accept it. :(

No, it is quite simple really: Turnpike works.

you still get spam because freeserve just deliver to the doamin name.
Irrespective of what is before the @.

I am currently (today) getting 100% blockage of spam. And Kevin is
using turnpike which means he is a windoze user so procmail would be
bugger all use to him. Unless, of course, it has been ported to
    windoze.

    Oh, how right you are!
I keep reading the custom rejection rules, and trying them out. Only to
have it say "Error in (whatever)"
I'll have to read the manual again, shame it's version 3.03.....

Now, I *know* that!! :) But a lot of people I communicate with are
fairly dim netiquette wise, and pass on mails etc. without snipping text
whatever, and also are incapable of sorting out spam traps.
So if I just rejected them, I may lose mail I want.

    <snip very helpful info>

Cheers for that Doc, I'll probably send an abuse report or two later.
I checked Des's(1) link and found the Met site re 419ers and they only
want reports if you have actually been silly enough to send money!
    BG.

    (1) I only got Grade 4 CSE English so I don't know if that's right or
not! And to quote.. DILLIGAF. :)

    Sounds it.

I don't really understand this though. I don't recall seeing spam to
different usernames from the same source arriving together. Perhaps you
get a different sort of spam?

    Been on a diet?

    Of course.

Create an email name called kevinlion and forget the custom rules. Just
    do:
    file/configure/email routing/envelope rejection/add. Reject on
    "addressed to:". kevinlion. OK.

The above assumes that 6 is the same as 5 in this respect.

Post legitimately as kevinlion. Correspond as yourself.

    It works 100% for don't_spam

Try pressing F1, it is bang up to date.
