Queues at petrol stations?

One of our engineers has just phoned the office to say that the last half a
dozen petrol stations he drove past have all had long queues off the
    forecourt and down the road.

Anyone else seen this , or is this just a bunch of locals getting their
arses in their hands over nothing?

If there's load of cars in a queue for fuel and you (on a bike) see a pump
    at the back
obviously the wrong side for numpty car drivers that dont realise the pump
    will reach
both sides of the car, do you ride past em all and use the pump ?

    I do,
