I'm sure someone does, otherwise there'd be no point in companies
    manufacturing them.

no, I meant anyone else /reading this shit/ besides me.

See, I want to ask a question about something, but I don't want to
give something else away and maybe something might happen that I don't
want to happen, if you see what I mean.
    But....but...

    "reading"? *boggle.
I see, and I'm keeping out of it. We really don't need that kind of
clandestine operation going on in here if you ask me..

I didn't see any of this and you can't prove I did.

    except for this post.

    erm, arse.

you've been a big help here, and I want you to know I appreciate it.

OK, let's take a different tack.

Say, hypothetically, that you'd seen something on a hypothetical
internet auction site that seemed to be pretty damn cheap, and -
    although you don't /need/ such a thing - you'd kinda like it.

Now, say you were the hypothetical winning bidder with a day or so to
go on the auction, with your bid considerably below what the item
would hypothetically cost new, and it appeared to be in mint
    condition.

Now, say you wanted to ask a question about how much the item really
ought to be worth, but you didn't want to give away where/how much you
were paying in case someone reading the newsgroup would snipe the item
out from under you, would you ask the question on the newsgroup?

So - and I can't stress enough how hypothetical all this is - how much
would you say an Akrapovic full system with Titanium oval end-can for
a fireblade would be worth paying for? My hypothetical winning bid is
so far unchallenged at 250 quid, which I think is pretty damn cheap,
    but what does ukrm think?

That sounds like an OK price, they'd be around the £500 mark new I'd
    have thought.

I already have a fairly loud carbon end-can on the thing, and there's
no way I'd want to run a full Akrapovic system on the road[1], but for
that money I do fancy it for track days.

[1] it loses the Exup valve which apparently makes low-speed/rev
engine characteristics a bit lumpy, but gives a big overall power
    increase.

MPS are selling the same for £1203 - remember this is a full stainless
4-2-1 exhaust system and matching titanium oval end-can.

Can you find out the new price?

I know there's quite a bit of variation - for example, the 'standard'
full ti system for a ZX7R is about 7~800 quid, whereas the 'fully
    monty' is about 1200.

I generally use on "half new price" as a starting point for value, so
it still looks like you're getting a reasonable deal.

well, the seller claims it originally cost a grand.
I know - I've asked for some clarification - from the picture it is
not clear whether it's the 4-1 "cooking version" or the full 4-2-1
race system. Even if it's the lesser version, I still reckon 250 quid
is a bit of a bargain. I was just wondering how much more than that
would it be worth going to.
