    Is that true?
I didn't think there was any power restrictions on any learner/provisional
    licences anywhere in Australia!

I am pretty sure the power restriction are not for learners, if mum and dad
both drive V8 falcodores, then what are the kids suppose to learn in.

they was a case of a learner killing her mum and dad, sister and exchange
student last year or early this year in Vic driving a HSV, there was calls
(read knee jurk) to restrict learners from "high powered" vehicles, but
    nothing came of it

if I am wrong, I am wrong

Yeah we tried this one... I borrowed my brothers cute little 250 with L
plates.. and everyone tried to kill me. He borrowed my ratty black vf..
and was amazed by the improvement in drivers around him.. Lots will
argue.. but I tried the experiment and found it totally convincing

There have never been any restrictions on power:weight for learners.. and why
would there need to be.. because they are being supervised by a responsible
driver. There are also P:W exemptions for P-platers if the only car(s)
available for them to use exceed the P:W allowed.
