Q: what KM intervals do people get their gixxers serviced ?

    Hello All,

    Can any owners of late gixxers (mine is a 2001)
    tell me at what KM intervals they are required
    to service their bikes ?.

    The manual says every 6000km, but Motorcycle Territory
    (who I brought it off) recommended every 5000km
    instead... and that's the intervals I got it
    serviced.

    Now that I'm down south, I just want to find
    out the intervals other dealers recommend ?

    Oil every 3000km, oil filter every 6000km, balance throttle body butterflies
    when the bike start to feel lethargic or when you start thinking "been a
    while since the butterflies have been balanced", and, while the tank's off,
    clean the air filter and check/replace the plugs... just like any other
    bike, really. Coolant and brake fluid flush every couple of years.

    Oil every 3000km is still a bit extravagant IK. You'de be hard pressed to
    **** Mobil Racing 4T or some other fully synthetic oil in 3000kml
