I'm in Canada, west coast (near Vancouver) and need
an upper triple clamp conversion kit for an '07 Thruxton
(from clip-on bars to regular). The Norman Hyde part #
is HBK169 -- "Thruxton top yoke assembly". Price £104.50,
or £122.79 with VAT. (Do I pay the VAT even from Canada?)

Anyone here dealt with this supplier? Or know of any other
dealer(s) where I could get the same accessory?

(Naturally, an original factory part would cost extra,
and I'm not sure if Triumph changed the fork/clamp geometry
when the clip-on version was changed to regular bars).

    Any help appreciated.
    TIA, Sean Quinlan

    where filtering is illegal?!
Norman Hyde won't have to pass any VAT on to the taxman, so if they do
try and charge you, tell 'em to **** off.
    Sorry - can't help.

No, you maybe liable for some import duty your end, have to check with
    the Canadian equivalent of C&E
Not directly but they've been in business for years. I remember an
acquaintance buying a 1000cc conversion for his Trident in 1979 after
    it spat a rod.

The above is the only posting on this thread I can see on UKRM.
My OP isn't visible. I think there's a Usenet glitch with this
group -- I haven't been able to subscribe for months (it freezes
my news client, Thunderbird) -- which says there are 802,243
    posting on this n/g.

Try pointing a free newsreader, such as Gravity
    http://mpgravity.sourceforge.net/
at a cheap but reliable news server such as
    http://www.individual.net/
and see if that makes a difference.

    Where near Vancouver?

    sean_q wibbled forthrightly:
It's more likely the config you've set up with your reader. Get it to
only download the last X articles, where X is a reasonable number (2000
    should do it).

If your OP isn't there, then it's likey to be your newsserver. They
probably don't cater very well for brits.

Heh. There probably was something up. I couldn't download
any new messages for the past three days or so either.
Admittedly, the downloading the best part of a million messages
and freezing up bit, is probably because he tried to re-subscribe to
the NG and didn't tell his newsreader not to download all the messages.
But there was definitely summat awry for a few days.

Still struggling on trying to use live mail here and I thought it might have
been yet another retrograde step on the part of Microsoft. But if it
happened to other newsreaders too, I'll have to assume the problem was
    elsewhere.
